Jimmy VanDura! Take him on the road! Make him your backyard office! Turn him into a profitable Airbnb! Make your own Nomadland movie, but with a flushing toilet.
This was our pandemic project that we had so much fun fixing up, but sadly lack of parking and 2022 life is making it hard to get out of town.
We have put a lot of work into this to get it running smoothly and comfortably however, it’s time to let Jimmy run free.
Here are the details:
Class B Camper van
20 ft long (currently parking in a 20×10 space at a storage facility and it’s a perfect fit)
Interior height is 5’5″ with an area near the stove in the rear kitchen that is 6’1″ so you can stand up and cook.
less than 47,000 original miles
V8 6.6 400 Engine
All tires are in great shape, including spare. Dual rear wheels
CA registration is good until June 2022
What Jimmy Vandura lacks in decent gas mileage (we averaged 15MPG) he makes up in turning heads wherever he goes.
Newly rebuilt transmission – 2021
new radiator – 2020
new rear drum brakes – 2021
New stereo with backup camera and slide-out screen
Engine voltmeter, USB outlets and backup camera switch controls installed and concealed in old dashboard ashtray
New interior AC and DC outlets (installed behind driver’s seat for the electric cooler)Rooftop and Dash A/C and heat both work
Roof vent with fan
Side dinette with storage under each seat. Dinette table collapses to become part of the bed
Can keep as two twin beds or fold down part of the sofa to become a king-sized bed
King-sized bed comfortably sleeps someone over 6ft
Full kitchen with sink, propane stove (large propane tank under the vehicle), and lots of storage with hardwood cabinets
Fully self-contained toilet, shower, sink in bathroom with original wallpaper in incredible condition.
New plumbing (2020)
works great with new fresh water tank, grey water tank, and water pump.
Large propane tank under vehicle with no leaks (was inspected by a motorhome repairman in 2020)
Carpets, upholstery, and pillows are all new (2020)
Interior has no mold or mildew smells
Very comfortable interior with nice light
sewer hose kit
hose regulator and meter
camper cord power adapter (a pigtail)
extra bulbs, wires, fuses
Haynes manual for GMC vans
GMC motorcoach manual printout
Custom-made front cab velcro-on privacy curtain
California king sheet set and bedding
Curtains and carpets
New Massimo portable e-cooler to be used in place of built in fridge (it holds 3 times the amount of a mini fridge)
Everything has been inspected by both a mechanic and an RV specialist within the last year and a half.
The only repair we have not done is the gas tank gauge, which currently is not operational, however the van does have two large gas tanks — a main tank and an auxiliary tank — so running out of gas has never been an issue. You just need to be mindful of your milage.
We love this van and have taken a lot of love and care in fixing it up. However, we moved to a house without a driveway to park it in and are back to work in person, making spontaneous road trips hard to find time for now.
It is currently in storage in South Pasadena, so serious inquiries only.
