This 2001 pop-top VW Eurovan Westfalia Weekender in the coveted techno blue is a fantastic vehicle and camper. The engine runs like a dream. It has a 2.8L VR6 engine (201 hp). Precious owner installed an aftermarket transmission cooler. Some key features:
-Pop-top with bunk bed that allows for standing up to 7 feet tall.
-Heated seats
-House battery
-After-market head unit with Apple Carplay/Android Auto
-After-market passenger swivel seat to create a living room feel
-New custom saddleblanket seat covers
-New tires
I pulled out the original weekender seats (sorry, the seats are no longer available) and built out a van with a bed, galley kitchen, sink, countertop space, and lots of storage. I had a small YouTube channel that I monetized (LoPie in the Wild), creating camping videos with this van being the star of the show. There is a video tour of this van on another channel you might want to check out – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqjc8R_B1F8&t=1s.
It has had 3 owners including me, and the vehicle has been garage kept for most of its life. It is rust-free. Maintenance records are included. I bought this vehicle with 90K miles and have put on a little under 30K miles. During this time, I have been on many adventures including a cross-country trip from New York to Oregon and back. I love this van but sadly it is time for me to move on.
It’s pretty pristine but there is a scratch or two and there are a couple of small tears in the pop-top canvas. They could be patched but it’s never bothered me. Maintenance since I’ve had it is left-tie rod, EVAP purge valve, ignition coils/spark plugs, oil filter housing. Regular oil changes. I have the previous owners’ maintenance records too.
