Highly Desirable 3500 Chevy Frame
Chevy 6.0 Vortec V8 Motor
We have added nearly $8K in improvements, add ons and upgrades over the last 4 years, including: new tires (’23); new front brakes, pads and slotted heavy duty rotors (’23); Sony navigation/audio system ('22); rear air lift kit (’21); new engine battery (’23); front and rear shocks, w/s module kit & fuel pump (’23); tie rods/idler arms/ball joints (‘22); roof vent cover (’24); grill and window rain guards; plumbing vent cover; new water heater anode; new headlights (’23); replaced toilet valve (’24); front hood air deflector and side window rain guards ('22).
Package Includes: whole van fitted cloth cover for storage protection, USB port back up camera, and two (2) Sumo Springs Solo Custom Helper bump stop shocks for the front end.
We improvised a few things for camping comfort: magnetic screen window covers for the passenger back side door and 2 rear door windows; a water (and bee/bird discouraging) repellant cover for the AC vent in back, and blackout curtains for the interior (original curtains will be included but are faded and the “tape” for the sliders needs some replacing, also included).
PROS: generator, AC and heat work as they should. Large fridge and freezer keep things cold/frozen perfectly. Two gas burners cook perfectly. The ceiling vent fan is great for pulling the heat up and out, cooling the interior instantly. The TV is original, works fine, has a DVD player built in, is a multi port model, can use your devices as sources; it's a powerful towing vehicle for pulling a medium/smaller tow car or trailer with a side by side or motorbike or two. Almost no rust on it. Two tables for sitting at front and back store out of the way.
CHALLENGES: awning has a just a few minor age/sun wear spots, but works fine in sun and rain, is lubed and cleaned; the house battery in the right side rear drawer works fine operationally, but we haven’t opened the drawer, it is stuck, didn’t want to force if not necessary. Original factory paint has some chips in front and back and the clear coat is peeling in the roof area. found occasional minor leaks after heavy rains over driver side and in the rear, but rare and not soaking wet, haven't seen any in some time. Easy clean up and dries on its own quickly. Towing requires a flatbed truck due to low clearance and weight.
This has been a wonderful RV for us for 4 years and is tremendously smooth and easy handling, holds more cargo than you can imagine, gets good mileage (13-17mpg), pulls like a champ, you can park it anywhere you park a longer pickup truck and has everything you could want for simple comfort and classic style. We always get compliments on the warm oak cabinetry and trim inside. We are moving toward more off road travel and need something different now, but we will really truly miss our first van. Time for someone else to make fabulous memories in it!
