Purchased this van two years ago at 56,788 kms. The engine sounds crisp and gets aprox per 23.5 mi per diesel gallon . Odo now reads under 125,000km
The Sprinter T1N 2003 , 4 and 5 are well sought after vans for conversions. This van if well maintained , oil changes and filters will run to a million kms as stated by my diesel mechanic. Yes diesel is more expensive in some parts but will get you better mileage overall. While the engine and drivetrain seem to be pristine Mercedes Sprinters are well known for some rust it is nothing that cannot be easily fixed by you.
Easy to maintain and parts can be purchased on Amazon. I’ve owned this van for 2 yrs and it had been the adventure of my life. Travelled across the USA from Michigan to California and enjoyed many National and State Parks along the way. This passed year travelled to Baha Mexico and camped out on the many beaches whale watching, surfing with amazing sunsets. This van will allow you to be off grid which is the only way to fly. I’ve stayed at many places for free along the way and avoided expensive RV parks. The van is a great ride and so easy to handle . This van was a Ministry van and very well maintained.
