We named our beautiful Mercedes Sprinter, ‘Galena’. Sleek, Strong, Smooth and oh so Shiny. When we designed our Sprinter on paper we wanted it on a truck platform (3500) and not the lesser passenger version (2500). We wanted it to have the proven V6 Turbo Diesel and on a very durable chassis to build from to eliminate the possibilities of squeaks and rattles and to protect our precious occupants in all situations. We wanted it very roomy inside with a tall ceiling to walk through and to view a flip down TV along with spacious windows to cruise the countryside in comfort. And we didn’t want a bathroom nor a sink to crowd us in, those things can be had when you stop between the 360 mile fuel stops. Our Sprinter is for passenger comfort and to arrive in style between resorts or hotels or short trips to the mountains or the beach or even going out to dinner and it does that very well. And 18 mpg was our average on our last excursion to Sedona AZ. Amazing.

We wanted it uniquely black so we went with the gorgeous Carbon Black Metallic paint option. We ordered it without the MB radio because we knew it would have a high end system installed to work with the flip down TV. It sounds amazing with the added insulation in the walls and floor. We wanted a low to no maintenance floor so over the sound deadening MB subfloor, we had a beautiful and very durable wood look vinyl plank professionally installed. Then when all that was done, we had a U shaped 3/4″ custom wood frame installed over the flooring and the wheel humps then bolted through the floor with steel backing plates for safety. Finished in durable two tone mahogany and tan marine grade vinyl over 5″ dura foam cushions. We had a butcherblock table installed, stained and mounted to adjustable legs. We added blue LED strip lights to the floor and brand new (never used) beverage cooler with blue lighting.

In 2020 we replaced the main battery and all 6 tires. The van is up to date and ready for the road. There is an an electric couch/bed available for it as well.

In 2013 our children were 5, 5 and 10, now they are almost double than in age and in size so as perfect as it is, we do need more space and we chose the Prevost as the replacement to Galena.

Based on comps, we feel its priced right for all that it is but will consider options as my husband is excited about the Bus that he is shopping for. The van will go through a comprehensive detailing and service before the new owner takes possession. Clear title in hand.
