I am selling my camper van, Shorty, which was originally designed and custom built by Vansmith in Boulder, CO in December 2018. This van is solidly built with a custom hand welded steel frame that supports the primary structure of the build and all the attached custom woodwork. I have enjoyed trouble-free traveling with Shorty but after purchasing a new townhome I need to sell Shorty to pay for some unexpected home repairs.

Shorty is an all season van that was originally designed with skiing in mind. For back county adventures or as a pre-resort ski locker room, there is added foam and spray insulation in the walls and ceiling. It comes equipped with an Espar/Eberspacher Airtronic B4 (Petrol) 12v (4kW) furnace with high altitude kit. The combination of the thick insulation, Espar heater and magnetic thermal window covers on all windows results in a van that heats up quickly and stays warm in the coldest conditions.

The power system includes two, 100-watt low-profile solar panels connected to a 200 amp/hr AGM battery and inverter. The system charges efficiently off solar, but also recharges when the van engine is on. The battery system runs a Dometic CFF 35 fridge, MaxxFan Deluxe roof fan with remote, temperature control and multiple settings, LED dimmable lights throughout the cabin, three dual USB chargers, the electrical components of the Espar furnace (but the furnace runs on gasoline for combustion) and the water pump.

The kitchen/living area has a deep farm sink and cutting board topper, automatic water pump and 16 gallon water storage system for running water in warmer temps. There is a two-burner gas cooking range and ample storage for all your needs. A pop-up RV table creates a nice dining area between the two-person bench and the passenger swivel seat.

The van has approximately 58,000 miles on it. It is the 136” wheelbase with high roof. The shorter wheelbase increases maneuverability and parking is a breeze. Shorty receives regular oil changes and tune-ups and I just installed two new back tires and replaced the front brakes. Shorty is paid-off and ready to be transferred to her new owner.
