The van is a nice alternative to outfitted vans which go for higher prices. You can build it out yourself, save 20k$, & always have what you want when it’s finished for cheaper.

The vacation van is converted, so you won’t need to wait the 6 months it takes to get the basics done professionally. It is professionally finished with wool insulation, wood walls & ceiling, two max air fans cut from the metal ceiling, & a double size wood pull out bed. The van was finished with Camp & Car in Port Townsend & will cost you 7k$ to get done plus the 6 month wait period it takes. The 185,000k miles took it to across America, so the van comes with a cool history. The van new had 49k miles when i bought it around 2022 from a dealership. The ford 250 is a desirable van for traveling or living, & mine has enough room to stand in which helps more than a lot of new buyers might realize. It is a medium ceiling height, not the tall, which in case your new or curious allows for less stress on the road across America. People don’t often realize that the extra few feet makes a difference, but when it comes to bridges or some drive throughs – you won’t need to worry. In practical terms it means no bridges will be an issue – 98% of the time. But if you are unsure & miss the Hight Sign, unless its’ old world (unless the bridge looks rare) the van will pass. But, look for 12 feet if you are nervous. In terms of the fans being up, & the height being in question, pick 14 feet & don’t risk it. Bottom line for new adult van lifers, 14 feet is always safe. Or follow the other major road rule, if semi trucks drive on that road specifically, there is zero reason to worry. New van life owners are often nervous when they’ve done their research & want to know that or the reality of what someone who has traveled says specifically about that. The advise will help you around the world.

The van was outfitted with linoleum dark wood flooring from Home Depo – is road worn & cracked in some places, but a good storied B +. Linoleum does not always age well in terms of the aesthetic like wood is expected to, but darker is better & with respect to the road it is quite nice in terms of art. The seats do not turn around, the black curtain is the classic (separating the apartment), & the van has custom premium black window covers which cost 450$ to buy. The drive seat window covers when open & can have nets. All of the window are covered & with magnetics. The custom fitted ford 250 transit window covers are from Etsy, & nearly perfect black. The car was also detailed recently for the sale.

The art in the car is stickers from the cities i visited plus some of my own, so it is the American standard class of cool. The truck is the common business standard style, without any stickers except a city lights bumper sticker on the outside which allows it to blend into most city spots. A rare luxury of van life, to be able to park anywhere in a city. The van is a single person option, perfect city nightlife, one of a kind apartment anywhere you go. It is a strong van, The Ford Tough kind. Business standard anonymity is nice for the apartment. It is the most common type of vehicle for medium scale middle businesses, it’s exterior lacking advertisements is normal. The rare luck to have the sought after exactly perfect, 2 years researched, experienced art style enjoyment too cool for anyone except American road individuality is the price. Kelly Blue Book lists the 2019 at 25k$ standard, so the price reflects the art & experience you get out of perfect.

The condition with only one side panel damaged, minus a road ding or two is custom luck. The window crack or two is road common. The price to fix that, if you need to – is maybe 40$ plus an hour. Or you could pick safelight repairs & they will come to you, at cost. The 6 month wait is something that won’t be gotten around to professionally install the wool insulation behind the wood walls & ceiling, but the floors are original. The apartment is one of one for those unless you install them yourself, which takes 6 to 8 hours. The custom linoleum is art which can’t be found, with experience the cool darker wood is classic which you can’t replace.

The wheels have a warranty in the glove box & are new. The radio works but isn’t great condition, it will last 6 years if treated right. But if you punch it, it won’t be perfect. The airbag & tire light are on because the van needs a simple electrical reset at the dealership, that’s maybe one afternoon at the Ford. The speakers work good (i don’t have perfect ears), there are no dead boxes. I included a custom N64 mirror for the morning.
