Talulah is a 2019 Ram Promaster 3500 Extended with a 2020 conversion completed by Red’s Custom Design in English, Indiana. Red has a full-time custom conversion shop that does an outstanding job with their builds. I chose him, after much research, because of his attention to detail, experience in home building, expediting, and van conversions, and his unparalleled dedication to customer service. As first-time van-lifers we wanted to make sure we worked with someone that would not complete our build and then leave us hanging if we had questions or issues. Red has been there for us every step of the way. Although we have had not one major issue with our build, there have been so many little questions along the way…and he has been a lifesaver many times over.
I say all of this because, as we send our baby off to make someone else’s van-life dreams come true, I want our buyer to know that this builder loves what he does, is committed to making an excellent product and could seriously just not be a better human.
Talulah has all of the standard 2019 features and, in addition, the 21A Preferred Package which includes the Trailer-Tow package, a 220-Amp alternator, driver/passenger 6-way lumbar adjustable seats (makes a HUGE difference when adjusting for comfort), power folding/heated mirrors, 2-additional key fobs, speed control, ParkSense rear park-assist and a premium heavy-duty suspension system w/stabilizer bar. She has had regular synthetic oil-changes, tire rotations and recommended maintenance at Chrysler Jeep Dodge City of McKinney (CarFax report available upon request).
Talulah sleeps 4 and has 4 seatbelts (2 in the cab and 2 installed after-market for the bench-seating. One is over bench and designed for a car seat). She has a wet bath w/custom sized stand up shower, beautiful stone-patterned flooring and a Thetford Porta-Potti 365 toilet. Her main sleeping area is across the back of the van but she also has a fold out bed up front as the L-shaped sofa can be converted into a bed that sleeps 2. She has a ton of storage. The under side of the back part of the sofa houses the A/C and heater, the other side is 100% storage. There are several deep over-head cabinets, 2 in front of the shower area, 1 in the kitchen and 2 over the back bed area. The garage, under the bed in back, features 2 slide-out storage trays, built in storage containers under the bed for all of your little nuts/bolts or small items and has more than enough room for your mountain bikes, gear, etc.
Talulah has a 25-gallon freshwater tank (in the garage) and a 18-gallon Gray tank (under the van) with a freshwater fill valve located on the passenger side of the van.
One of the most unique additions that we could not have lived without is her Cruise N Comfort 12-V, ducted A/C. (For those not familiar it is truly a split A/C system, not a swamp cooler). In our design phase we decided that we wanted as much solar as possible on the roof because we didn’t want to always be tied down to an electrical plug. But we also knew that a great A/C was non-negotiable. We have 2 dogs and we live in Texas and Florida a majority of the time so A/C was a must. We saw Jarred Tocci’s video on CNC and we were sold. BEST decision we ever made! It takes up no space on our roof, runs off our batteries without the use of the inverter and is tucked out of the way under a bench so you would never know it’s there. And Chris, the owner of CNC, is an absolute pleasure to work with. I had some questions along the way about the thermostat, etc. and the guy literally gave me his personal cell phone number! Unbelievable customer service. I would recommend his products ALL DAY LONG to anyone who wants a great A/C without sacrificing space on the roof.
