We purchased this van with a factory order thru a Ford dealer in 2021. It is still like new with only 6,000 miles. We are in our mid 80’s and decided to retire from van life. The vehicle is powered by the 3.5L Ecoboost V6 engine. Powerful for excellent handling and capable of all highway conditions. The AWD feature has performed well on winter road surfaces.
Our build out was done by Chris Hill of Nevada City Vans. The emphasis was on aesthetics, comfort, and advanced technical features. Careful craftsmanship accomplished an attractive interior with cherry wood cabinetry. The van is stand alone independent with no propane appliances. There is a duel 12V and 120 system with a 2,000 watt inverter. The 2 BATTLE BORN LITHIUM BATTERIES 270AH are powered from three sources: solar panels, the alternator, and a shore plug system. We high top allowed us to design the interior to give us room to move around and features two countertops, a deep sink, 25 gallon grey water tank, induction stove, and swivel drivers and passenger seats. There are two table tops stowed and either flip up or on an easy Lagun mount system for meals and office use. Another table top flips down to the outside giving additional useable space and good for eating outside with our folding chairs pulled up alongside.
Hot water and interior heater are powered from a boiler heating system that uses gasoline from the van’s tank.(ESPAR/EBERSPACHER GASOLINE HYDRONICS) Lighting is throughout with night lights above the bed and also above the front seats for reading. The overhead has multiple lights all dimmable. We installed an LED night light strip inside to give safe movement in the dark, and an LED light panel and motion sensory light panel above the kitchen area. There is a large refrigerator ideal for storing plenty of food for boon docking and meal preparation needs. A freezer for ice cream and ice cubes. The ceiling van is operated by a remote and runs quietly for warm night ventilation. All windows have portable covers or shades for private. The bed is a queen size and has a pull out stair for an easy step up into the sleeping and relaxing space. The rear doors open to a large garage housing for maximum storage, the drinking water tank (25 gallons), cabinet for the shore power cord and hose for filling the tank, and readily assessable cabinet for the power system. There is an outdoor shower in the rear of the van with hot water and controls to vary the temperature. A cabinet with comfortable bucket toilet, easy to use, convenient disposable bags, a space for portable toilet if desired.
