This 144, 4×4 van is a great buy for anyone looking for a starter adventure van. It is ready to camp the night you buy it – bed platform, power system with lighting, insulation, refrigerator, diesel cabin heater, running water, seating for 2, 3 or 4 – but with room in the budget for the improvements that make sense for you.

The van has 12,xxx miles which may increase slightly as we continue to use it some. It has had its 10k mile service and recently visited the Mercedes dealer for a checkup and all outstanding recall work (mostly software upgrades). The 5-year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty is transferable. The van has been stored in a carport. A clean Colorado title is in hand.

Originally this van was finished with a dinette bed, cushions, beadboard panel kit, thinsulate insulation in the walls, insulated floor, and plumbing and electrical from Vantopia (similar to this https://www.vantopiavans.com/product-page/dinette-bed-cabinetry-kit, minus the full height pantry). That’s a kit cost of about $14k + $7k in instalation + $6k electrical and plumbing for a $27,000 value.

The dinette bed wasn’t the ideal layout for us – we wanted a raised platform with more room for gea and a bed for our son underneath. We removed the dinette benches and installed a bed platform that reused the dinette pieces. No permanent modifications were made so you can choose to keep the platform, remove the platform for a larger garage space, or restore the dinette arrangement. It would take about a day’s work to switch it back.

Features of the van include (items marked with * can be removed for a discount):

  • 1/2″ EPS insulated birch floor with laminate finish
  • Thinsulate insulated walls with beadboard finish
  • Fantastic fan
