Welcome to Walnut Express, winner of GoCamp’s Lifetime Achievement Award for camper van rental earnings for two years in a row! Professionally built by Van Specialties in Portland, Oregon with design touches by nationally renowned restauranteur Kurt Huffman who furnished the van with gorgeous solid stained walnut wood throughout, this van has everything to make your van life come true. Step inside, and you will immediately see and feel the difference between bespoke detail/quality and mass produced rigs.

We are the second owners and have taken an amazing van and made it even better. She is in excellent condition, impeccably maintained, garaged, and ready for new adventures with her new owner. And this is not just a camper van but a business opportunity if desired. We have been renting Walnut for three seasons via GoCamp together with Outdoorsy, with lifetime gross receipts of $144,500 to date. Serious buyers interested in continuing to use Walnut Express as a rental side hustle can be referred to GoCamp and provided all that is needed for a turn key operation. We would be happy to share all that we have learned over the years to help ease the transition. Check out our GoCamp listing with 97% five-star reviews! Starting from a 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 170WB 4cyl diesel, she is wrapped in windows for full panoramic viewing and easy driving, which is exceedingly rare. Amazing fuel economy at 22-24MPG and drives like a charm. There is a super comfy memory foam queen bed and the front dinette can convert into a twin like bed. And when you grow weary of camping, the rear bed can also be replaced by a beautiful large walnut dinette table for lux tailgating or fine dining out, which increases the seating up to 7 total (with seatbelts).

Full insulation including magnetic window and vent coverings along with a 13,500 BTU AC and diesel powered Espar forced air heater make this an easy 3 season camper (4 if you don’t have to drive in snow!). The Fantastic overhead vent fan is great for air circulation and pulls a nice breeze through the bedroom slider windows. The “house” AGM 448 amp hour battery system with 2000W pure sine inverter is charged seamlessly either by driving (the van alternator), 200W roof mounted solar panels, or 110v shore power. This can allow you to live off the grid for short periods of time, or nearly indefinitely if you use the 110v appliances sparingly and have full sun, or drive a bit every couple of days. The control panel is centrally located along with all of the system controls to easily monitor charging/battery status. There is plenty of overhead dimmable LED lighting, along with strategically placed LED task lighting fixtures. USB and 110v outlets to charge all your devices and make your AM coffee and toast are conveniently place throughout.

The kitchen is clean and efficient with a Dometic two burner propane stove served by a 3.3 gallon under body tank, built in microwave, stainless deep body sink/pullout faucet, low power draw 3.8 cu ft AC/DC Dometic fridge/freezer, and custom home quality solid Walnut counter/cabinets. The water is supplied seamlessly by either shore hookup or the 22 gallon fresh tank and heated by the Espar system on demand. Hot showers can be had off the tailgate and there is a brand new 12 gallon gray water tank.

Although she is plush, Walnut has plenty room to store lots of gear (we manage quivers of windsurfing equipment which is long and bulky) both at floor level and in the many overhead walnut cabinets. There is a trailer hitch for your bikes or other toys.

At almost 114K miles, Walnut Express is fully current on all maintenance with regular MB service A and B (including oil changes) performed at half the recommended interval. All work has been done by either MB certified shops or independent Sprinter shops using MB parts. There are no fluid leaks, the AC compressor was replaced last summer, new front brakes installed at 108K, and she was just outfit with brand new off road tires. This summer, she underwent a professional multistep full body exterior paint cut and polish to bring out that MB Black shine, including the roof! There is nothing Walnut needs until the next 10K service at 123.3K.

All service records and the original Van Specialties build sheet will be furnished upon request to serious buyers. It is important to note that the latter can be essential to obtaining valid RV insurance as some companies will not insure DIY builds.
