Westley The Westy is For Sale!

Our Westfalia has been cared for and maintained like he’s a member of our family, because he is! We always tried to find the best products, upgrades, and mechanics to keep our escape pod reliable and simple to use. This Westy starts up instantly, is extremely easy and comfortable to drive, and will have folks smiling at you wherever your adventures take you.

The extensive lists below should cover most of the upgrades we’ve done to the van over the 7 years we’ve owned him. If you have any questions, please contact us.

The main reason we’re selling Westley is because I have chronic lower back issues that flare up, and the setup and takedown required for a Westfalia is sometimes more than I can handle. We’re sad to pass Westley on to a new home. We also know that it feels like the right time for him to enjoy a new family and new adventures!

// THE IMPERFECT STUFF //

Every van of this era is going to have some quirks! We believe that Westley doesn’t have too many quirks, and nothing related to safety or reliability has ever been put off.

• “10 foot paint job” Not the best looking original paint on the front and rear, but looks good from 10 feet away.
• There is a very tiny ATF drip that multiple shops haven’t been able to lock down, but it’s very minimal and just from the pan gasket area. I check the ATF level regularly and it hasn’t visibly dropped.
• There is a small amount of seam rust on the driver’s side where the kitchen is located, very common for a Westy.
• There is a ding in the rear passenger side wheel arch.
• The wiring for the side mirrors (heat, plus electric adjustment) doesn’t currently work, but I will try to get it rewired for the new owners before they adopt Westley.
• Original 2.1L engine, so a rebuild or replacement should eventually be planned for. Currently the engine runs SOLID and we are vigilant when it comes to regular maintenance and oil changes.
